Indiana Fever Reacts to Stephanie White’s Comments on Caitlin Clark

The Indiana Fever have brought in Stephanie White with the aim of unlocking the full potential of Caitlin Clark, the former WNBA Coach of the Year. Although they shared some highlights during their inaugural season together, injuries disrupted what had promised to be an unforgettable year for Clark.

The ex-WNBA Rookie of the Year participated in only 13 games during the 2025 season, posting averages of 16.5 points, shooting 36.7 percent, 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.2 three-pointers in 31.1 minutes per game. Clark faced several injuries in 2025, culminating in the Fever sidelining her for the rest of the season due to a right groin injury.

Stephanie White was appointed as the Fever’s head coach this past offseason, taking over from Christy Sides. White returned to Indiana after coaching the Connecticut Sun for two seasons and previously head coaching in 2015 and 2016. Recently, during an appearance on the podcast “Bird’s Eye View” hosted by WNBA legend Sue Bird, White expressed admiration for Clark’s outstanding work ethic.

White remarked, “You can see from Caitlin’s achievements that she is a hard worker. But it’s the fact that she wastes no movement or rep and approaches her work with immense dedication every day that earns high respect.” He also compared Clark to Taylor Swift, highlighting how she handles the pressure of her spotlight, calling her “like Taylor Swift 2.0.”

The Fever embraced this comparison, posting “Caitlyn Clark 🤝 Taylor Swift” on Instagram. Clark, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, inspires White’s analogy, noting her ability to break things down and intensely focus her efforts when playing.

Fortunately, Clark is expected to fully recover in time for the WNBA season kickoff in May. Despite their first season together being cut short, White and Clark are anticipated to return stronger in 2026.

Fan Take: This update is thrilling news for WNBA fans as a healthy Caitlin Clark under Stephanie White’s guidance could elevate the Fever’s performance significantly. It underscores the resilience and dedication in the league, promising an electrifying season ahead that could attract even more attention to women’s basketball.
