Liverpool manager Arne Slott did not do much to replace Ibrahima Konate after another poor performance against Leeds United.

The France international has not been at his best this season and was once again the team’s real weakness in Saturday night’s 3-3 draw at Elland Road.

Konate’s penalty got Leeds back into the game, but Anton Stach could have made it 2-2 with a better goal.

In his post-match remarks, Slott admitted that this is not the first time Konate has looked doubtful for Liverpool’s goals this season, but this seems like a clear sign that the Dutch tactician is really losing patience with his players…

Is it time for Liverpool and Ibrahima Konate to go their separate ways?

Of course, it cannot be ignored that Konate’s slump in form comes amid continued speculation about whether he will sign a new contract at Anfield.

Konate is in the final months of his current contract and could become a free agent next summer, but of course there is still time to commit to his future.

However, with current form, I doubt many LFC fans will be too concerned about the 26-year-old’s departure.

It’s certainly interesting that Slott called him out in public like this, but this suggests that perhaps he’s run out of patience with him now.

That could mean removing him from the team, and perhaps deciding it’s in the best interest of everyone involved for him to move on at the end of this season.

Interestingly, according to the Athletic newspaper, it appears that Real Madrid no longer want Konate, and perhaps his decline in form could damage their next move.
