Liverpool are now reportedly ready to accept a reduced offer for one of their star players, subject to key conditions in the January transfer window.

Salah accuses Liverpool of ‘throwing him under the bus’

To say Saturday night was a disaster for Liverpool would be an understatement. Life was good at 2-0. The champion was in control. In fact, an unnecessary challenge from Ibrahima Konate saw Leeds United cruising back into the match before both teams ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw.

But the worst was yet to come. Mohamed Salah never took to the pitch again, but he stepped up to the microphone after the game and unleashed an explosive rant against Arne Slott and Liverpool.

‘Troublesome’ Liverpool star shows why FSG must sign Semenyo

Liverpool need to make one or two signings in the January transfer window.

The Egyptians said: “To sit on the bench for 90 minutes! I think it’s the first time in my career that I’ve been on the bench for the third time. To be fair, it’s very disappointing. I’ve done a lot for this club over the years, especially last season.”

“Right now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why. I feel like the club threw me under the bus. That’s how I feel. I think it’s clear that someone was trying to put all the blame on me.”

“I got a lot of promises in the summer and I’ve been on the bench for three games so far, so I can’t say they’re keeping their promises. I’ve said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager and then all of a sudden we no longer have a relationship. I don’t know why, but from my point of view it seemed like someone didn’t want me at the club.”

This is a new low point in Liverpool’s shocking title defence, and where they go from here is anyone’s guess. But it seems the time has come to get ruthless, with reports suggesting Anfield officials are ready to sell Konate following his dismal performance.

Liverpool are ready to accept Konate’s offer

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are prepared to accept a £15m offer to sell Konate in January if they can find a replacement. The Frenchman moved from Real Madrid this season but intends to become a free agent when his contract expires in the summer.

After conceding the penalty for Leeds’ return to Saturday’s game, Slott admitted Konate had been at the scene of the crime too often this season.

“Unfortunately for him, he does a lot of things well, but he’s a bit too much at the crime scene. I’ve heard people say that before in England.”

Konate, a player Virgil van Dijk described as “fantastic” last year, is now Liverpool’s biggest liability. With just over six months left on his current contract, it remains to be seen whether he will agree to new terms.
