At UFC 323 in Las Vegas, Henry Cejudo showcased his skill one last time inside the Octagon before officially retiring. The event offered plenty to discuss for fans, including reflections on Cejudo’s impressive career and his final bout against Peyton Talbot at the T-Mobile Arena.

Cejudo, a former two-division UFC champion, is celebrated as one of the greatest athletes in MMA history. His achievements on the sport’s biggest stage garnered heartfelt farewells, including praise from UFC president Dana White.

Known as “Triple C,” Cejudo’s career highlights include being an Olympic gold medalist, holding titles as UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion, and being one of only four fighters ever to hold two UFC belts simultaneously.

Though his comeback attempt in 2020 was marked by losses, Cejudo’s appearance at UFC 323 earned him respect and admiration within the MMA community. Following his tough fight with Talbot, Cejudo was commended by Dana White and received an additional fight night bonus, although the main bonus went to the headliner Petr Yan.

Cejudo’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz of Dominance MMA, revealed that the UFC rewarded Cejudo with payment for both showing up and for his fight, highlighting the promotion’s recognition of the retiring star’s contribution. Abdelaziz posted on social media, “UFC just paid Henry Cejudo for a show and win prize money. Thank you.”

Fans quickly responded to the news, with many agreeing that Cejudo deserved the UFC’s gesture after a storied career. Some praised his final performance, while others felt he should receive even more financial recognition due to his legacy. Mixed opinions also surfaced regarding the structure of fighter pay and benefits for veterans like Cejudo.
