Manchester United’s lack of success in the Premier League is no secret, with the club now having not won a title for 12 years, something that would have been unthinkable under Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Red Devils have gone through a myriad of managers since the Scot’s retirement, but Ruben Amorim is the latest manager to end such a drought.

The 40-year-old has received a lot of attention in recent months, which is no surprise considering he has won just 41% of his games in all competitions.

However, the manager already enjoys huge support from the market hierarchy, as evidenced by the £200m spent during the summer transfer window.

As part of strong support from INEOS, the former Sporting CP manager added a number of attackers to his first team, one of whom made an immediate impact upon his move to Manchester.

The statistics behind Mbeumo’s start to life at Manchester United

Over the summer there was a real push to improve United’s front line, with the bulk of their spending going into the final third.

Benjamin Sesco and Matheus Cunha are just two players added through this hierarchy, with Brian Mbeumo becoming the final part of the new attacking trio formed by INEOS.

The Cameroonian signed a contract worth £71m from top division rivals Brentford, but such a deal appeared to be an excessive amount at the time the deal was announced.

But 15 games into his Old Trafford career, the 26-year-old has already scored six goals in the Premier League, and such a move now looks like great business.

Such a record is the best of any first-team squad, but his basic stats in the league further point to a great start to life at the Theater of Dreams.

Mbeumo also has 1.5 shots on target per 90, with an accuracy rate of 58%, both of which are currently the best of any first-team player.

United’s star is becoming the best in the world

Despite their struggles in recent seasons, many United players remain in the spotlight, but none more so than Bruno Fernandes.

The club’s captain, 31, scored by far the most goals and assists last season and then finished the year with 37 goal contributions across all competitions.

There is no doubt that he has reached a world-class level over the last few years and there is certainly more discussion to be had as he proved his versatility under Amorim in the 2025/26 season.

Bruno has fallen into a deeper midfield position this season, but that hasn’t stopped him from flourishing in the Premier League, as evidenced by an impressive 10 goals and assists in 15 appearances.

Alongside Mbeumo and Bruno, goalkeeper Senne Ramens has also far exceeded all expectations following his summer move to the Red Devils.

The Belgian arrived from Royal Antwerp on deadline day to strengthen the club’s shot-stopping department and be an upgrade over the departed Andre Onana.

Although he had to defend his time early in his career at Old Trafford, the 23-year-old has now cemented his place as the club’s number one and is one of Amorim’s star players.

He has now featured in nine league games since joining in the summer and his stats this season have shown his immediate impact and huge praise has been heaped on him.

Ramens has conceded just 11 goals in his previous nine games and has since recorded two saves in 90 games for a save percentage of 62%, one of the best records in the division.

He has already stopped 0.14 goals this season, ranking him in the top 25% of all keepers in the league, leading one analyst to rate him as “one of the best keepers in the world”.

The Belgian’s impressive numbers also show up with the ball at his feet, as he has since converted 6.9 long balls per 90, putting him in the top 15% of other goalkeepers in England’s top flight.

It’s safe to say that Rammens is arguably a better addition than Mbeumo, given the £15m transfer fee and the problems the club were facing in such areas prior to the move.

At just 23 years old, he has plenty of time to reach the next level in his career, and he certainly has the potential to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world for at least the next 10 years.
