Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Diant Ramazi.
The 24-year-old German goalkeeper is currently on loan at Heidenheim and has impressed during his loan spell. Arsenal are monitoring his progress and could make a move for him.
Dianto Ramaji may be tempted
The opportunity to join a Premier League club could be exciting for the goalkeeper. It would be a big step up in his career. But at this stage of his career he needs to play regularly. Sitting on the bench at Arsenal won’t do him any favors.
They already have two quality goalkeepers at their disposal.
Christian Falk told SportBILD: “It’s true, yes Ramage is on Arsenal’s list. The Heidenheim keeper is actually only on loan from Dortmund, so they will have to sit with them.”
“Arsenal have a goalkeeper who is good in goal. David Raya is definitely number one, so we are talking more about back-ups. We already have Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is 31 years old, and they are both under contract until 2028, so there will be more prospects for Ramaj, but of course it is an interesting club.”
Can Arsenal sign Ramaj?
It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal respond to their interest and make a formal offer to sign him. They have the financial wherewithal to sign him, but it remains to be seen whether they can convince him to play a key role.
There is no doubt that the 24-year-old could be a very useful option for Arsenal in the future, but the player needs to focus on his development for now. He should ask for guaranteed game time before committing to a move.
It remains to be seen whether Dortmund are prepared to allow him to leave. Although he is not a key part of their plans, he is a talented player with a bright future and the German club may feel he could be valuable to them.
