‘I’m not happy…’ – Enzo Maresca hints Chelsea star will leave in January transfer window

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has hinted at goalkeeper Philipp Jorgensen’s future ahead of the January transfer window.

The Blues have not given Jorgensen many first-team minutes, with Robert Sanchez remaining the clear number one keeper under Maresca for the time being.

It remains to be seen how this will affect Jorgensen’s future, but Maresca himself has spoken publicly about it, admitting that the players are not happy with the lack of playing time.

Watch below as Fabrizio Romano addresses Maresca’s words regarding the Jorgensen situation via X’s official account…

“We are happy with Filip Jorgensen, but at the same time they all want to play,” Maresca said. “And if they don’t play, they’re not happy. We’ll see what happens in January.”

Should Filip Jorgensen leave Chelsea for more playing time?

Jorgensen was considered a great talent even before joining Chelsea, establishing himself as a key player at his former club Villarreal.

The 23-year-old may still have a big future in the game, but I doubt it will work out at Stamford Bridge.

CFC appear to have faith in Sanchez as their first-choice keeper, even though the Spaniard hasn’t always looked that convincing.

If Jorgensen is not able to replace Sanchez at the moment, he would probably be better off looking for a move in the near future.

That may not necessarily mean the Denmark international will leave the club in January, but Maresca does not seem to have completely ruled out the possibility.

Chelsea would be wise to keep Jorgensen as a back-up option in case Sanchez is injured, but it is also possible that he is open to offers and the player would be wise to accept the chance to try a new challenge if one is offered.
