illusion of shaft lean

To see what’s happening, set your body in the proper impact position. Your hips should be about 45 degrees apart, and your shoulders should be slightly apart. Your weight should be on your front foot and your hands should be placed slightly in front of the ball on the ground. Viewed from the front, this indicates an anterior tilt of the shaft.

This is where an “illusion” becomes necessary. Return your hips and shoulders to a right angle and let your arms and hands follow.

“His hands, the club, everything is far away.” return “When your pelvis is more perpendicular to the target than at address,” says Mike Granato.

The only reason your hands are in front of the ball and your shaft is tilted toward the target is because your hips and shoulders are tilted. open When impact is reached. It is the rotation of the body that causes the shaft to tilt forward, rather than pushing the hand towards the target.

By feeling your body open up and your hands and arms following suit, you’ll be able to hit the ball better than ever before.
