  • Leeds keen to sign Troy Parrott
  • How will Parrott develop under Daniel Farke’s new Leeds United setup?

Leeds United are linked with a move for former Spurs striker Troy Parrott as Daniel Farke looks to strengthen his attacking line-up.

According to the latest report from Football FanCast, Los Blancos have approached AZ Alkmaar about a potential deal for the Republic of Ireland forward.

According to reports, sources close to the player have suggested that Leeds are seriously considering bringing the 23-year-old back into English football following a period of sustained interest after being linked last summer and again in December.

Although his time at Tottenham may not have brought about the breakthrough that many had expected, and earned him the harsh nickname “Failure” in some quarters, Parrott revitalized his career in the Eredivisie.

Since joining AZ Alkmaar permanently, the Dublin-born striker has continued to attack relentlessly in front of goal.

His form has been particularly good this season, scoring nine goals in just 13 appearances in the Eredivisie and 19 goals in 25 games in all competitions.

His confidence was further underlined on the international stage recently, when he scored a memorable hat-trick for Ireland and kept their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup alive.

This blend of domestic stability and international pedigree suggests the player has improved significantly since his early days in North London, transforming into the clinical number nine he was always expected to be.

Due to his good form, there are rumors that he could make a spectacular return to Tottenham.

How will Parrott develop under Daniel Farke’s new Leeds United setup?

Troy Parrott’s potential arrival at Elland Road comes at a crucial tactical crossroads for Daniel Farke.

After a difficult start to the 2025/26 Premier League season, Falke has pivoted away from the traditional 4-3-3 system and found “white-hot” form in a new 3-5-2 hybrid formation.

The move to a back three was first introduced against Manchester City in late November, and since then they have gone seven games unbeaten, extending Leeds’ longest unbeaten run in the top flight since 2001.

Some club stats for Troy Parrott via Transfermarkt

This system was transformative as it prioritized direct, over-the-top balls to two strikers rather than a gradual build-up to one forward.

Mr. Parrott is seen as the ideal candidate to succeed in this new regime for several reasons. He has the technical ability to drop deep and facilitate wingers, but his recent statistics prove he has the instincts of a predator in the box.
