  • Liverpool have concrete interest in Yann Diomande

Liverpool will have to wait until the summer transfer window to sign RB Leipzig sensation Yann Diomande, according to The Independent.

The 19-year-old winger has quickly become one of the Bundesliga’s breakout stars, but Leipzig have made their stance clear and Diomande was not for sale in January.

Diomande has been an electric player for Leipzig this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in the Bundesliga despite his age and limited experience at the top level.

The Ivorian teenager is already being talked about as one of the next elite attackers in the German football league, which has produced stars such as Erling Haaland, Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham in recent years.

Leipzig only wants summer sale

Leipzig, who are known for refusing to allow key players to leave midway through a season, have reportedly notified all interested clubs that they will only consider a move for Diomande at the end of this season.

A club source said sporting director Reuven Schröder sees Diomande as “non-negotiable” until June, given Leipzig’s aim to qualify for the Champions League and the club’s policy of selling star players only if they can secure a replacement.

Liverpool are planning a major squad shake-up in the summer, and a wide attacker is near the top of the club’s shopping list, especially given the growing uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah’s long-term future.

Salah, whose relationship with Arne Slott is reportedly facing strain following recent disagreements, could leave the club in the summer, with Liverpool’s recruitment team preparing contingency plans.

Liverpool scouts have reportedly seen him more than a dozen times since the start of the season.

The Reds aren’t alone in their pursuit. Arsenal and Manchester United are also tracking Diomande and are expected to show interest when the summer window opens.
