The Brooklyn Nets (12-32, 13th in the Eastern Conference) are set to face off against the Phoenix Suns (27-19, 6th in the Western Conference) in Phoenix on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET. Brooklyn aims to snap a five-game losing streak with a victory over the Suns.

Phoenix has been strong at home, holding a 14-6 record, and they rank fifth in the NBA, spearheaded by Mark Williams who averages 13 offensive rebounds and 3.2 offensive boards per game. On the road, the Nets have struggled with a 6-15 record and carry a 1-2 mark in closely contested games decided by fewer than four points.

The Suns are shooting 45.9% from the field this season, which is slightly below the 49.0% shooting percentage the Nets allow their opponents. Offensively, Brooklyn averages 107.9 points per game, trailing Phoenix’s 111.8 points on average. This will be their second meeting this season, with the Suns winning the previous game 126-117 on January 20, thanks to Dillon Brooks’ 27 points.

Key players for Phoenix include Collin Gillespie, who averages 13.4 points and 4.7 assists, and Grayson Allen, who has been hitting an average of 3.6 three-pointers over the last 10 games. For the Nets, Michael Porter Jr. leads with 24.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, while Egor Demin has been making 2.3 three-pointers on average in his last 10 contests.

In their recent form, the Suns are 6-4 in their last 10 games, putting up averages of 112 points, 44 rebounds, 24.3 assists, 8.9 steals, and 4.4 blocks per game, shooting 43.9% from the floor. Their opponents have averaged 108 points in those games. Meanwhile, the Nets have struggled significantly, going 1-9 in their last 10, with average stats of 103.3 points, 40.2 rebounds, 24.9 assists, 7.2 steals, and 4.6 blocks per game, while allowing an average of 118.8 points.

This matchup is significant for basketball fans because it highlights the resilience of a struggling Nets team looking to turn their fortunes around against a strong Suns squad missing key players. The outcome could influence playoff positioning and demonstrates how injuries and team depth can impact the competitive balance in the league.
