WNBA Sensation Angel Reese Requests Prayers This Sunday

WNBA standout Angel Reese has called for prayers this Sunday following a tragic event in Minneapolis. The Chicago Sky forward, now in her third season, expressed deep concern after another fatal shooting occurred on Saturday, this time involving Border Patrol agents who killed a man identified as Alex Preti.

Minnesota’s Attorney General Liz Kramer, along with Minneapolis authorities, has formally requested urgent intervention from a U.S. court. In a letter, they emphasized the critical need for judicial action to halt ongoing harm inflicted on the communities of Minneapolis, St. Paul, and throughout Minnesota due to what they referred to as Operation Metrosurge.

“The plaintiffs and their communities desperately require a court-mandated pause to prevent further irreparable damage affecting the health, safety, education, and well-being of residents,” Kramer and her team wrote. “This situation cannot persist—we need courts to intervene before Operation Metrosurge claims another life.”

Actions against ICE are being demanded as part of the response. The letter stated, “The evidence provided is ample to warrant immediate relief. The plaintiffs have proven ongoing, irreparable damage along with significant constitutional issues. Delays in court action only worsen these harms and threaten the very rights the judiciary is tasked to protect.”

Former WNBA players have also joined in asking for prayers. Angel Reese accompanied her request with the heartfelt statement, “I’m praying for our country.”

Fans have responded supportively, with many echoing their solidarity: “We are praying with you,” wrote one fan, while another reflected, “It’s heartbreaking given everything happening right now.” Others pledged to pray as well, though some noted, “We need more than prayers at this time 💔.”
