Manchester United are reportedly considering a surprise move to sign a Chelsea attacker to replace Cole Palmer, who is currently considered untouchable at Stamford Bridge.

Rosenior: Palmer’s move ‘unrealistic’

The Red Devils certainly feel emboldened of late, having defeated Manchester City and subsequent champions Arsenal in their first two games under caretaker manager Michael Carrick. And that could factor into their transfer plans ahead of the summer window.

It’s been a quiet month, but recent reports suggest that INEOS could be ready to spend big again once the current campaign ends. Some people have abandoned the Palmer name.

According to reports, the former Man City star is homesick in London, allowing the Old Trafford outfit to take full advantage. However, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has since shut down those rumors, telling reporters that his star player is untouchable.

Rosenior said: “There’s no reason to be sure. It’s so unreal. It came out of nowhere. There’s no substance. There’s no reason to have a conversation. That’s my position.”

“Cole is very happy. I’ve talked to him a lot. What we’re thinking about is how can we make this team better, how can he improve and how can I help him.”

Manchester United have identified one player who could emulate Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford.

“He loves being here and he wants to be a Chelsea player. You can’t stop speculation, but some speculation is far from the truth. There’s no point in discussing it.”

But Palmer is not the only Chelsea attacker Man United are keeping an eye on. INEOS are also reportedly looking to sign one of west London’s most promising stars.

Manchester United considering a move for Tyrik George

Man United are currently considering signing Tyrik George from Chelsea instead of Palmer, the Daily Mail reports. He will reportedly be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this year as his name is highly valued by INEOS and he has struggled to get game appearances.

It is not the first time Manchester United have signed a young player from a Premier League rival. They have already brought in players like Aiden Haven from Arsenal, who has done well at Old Trafford.

This would allow them to give George the chance he currently doesn’t have in west London, and maybe pick up a point for Chelsea in the process.

The 19-year-old, who was praised for his “fantastic” form by talent scout Jacek Kulig in November, still has plenty of potential. All he needs is an opportunity to prove himself at first-team level.
