Barcelona secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Copenhagen on Wednesday, advancing to the Champions League Round of 16. Despite a challenging first half where they conceded a goal to 17-year-old Viktor Dadasson just before halftime, the team turned things around in the second half with goals from Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Marcus Rashford.

The match began with Barcelona dominating possession, but it was Copenhagen’s Mohamed Ainoussi who set up Dadasson for a breakaway goal, taking the hosts by surprise. Although Lewandowski squandered a chance to equalize soon after, Eric Garcia nearly brought Barça level with a deflected shot.

By halftime, Barcelona held 75% of the ball yet struggled to find the net, hitting the crossbar and forcing a few saves from the Copenhagen keeper. However, Yamal helped orchestrate the equalizer with a brilliant assist to Lewandowski, marking his 106th Champions League goal.

Yamal’s momentum built rapidly as his shot led to a goal and allowed Raphinha to score from a penalty that followed a deflection from another of his passes. Rashford solidified the win with a smart free-kick that caught Copenhagen’s goalkeeper off guard. Barcelona narrowly avoided a late scare when Gabriel Pereira’s header was ruled out for offside.

Finishing fifth in the league, Barça’s advance to the Round of 16 sets them on a collision course with teams like Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle, making their upcoming matches crucial.
