Aerial Powers Shares Excitement Over Caitlin Clark’s New Role as NBC Special Contributor

Caitlin Clark has decided not to compete in any basketball leagues during the WNBA offseason, despite reported interest from the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled. The Indiana Fever standout has been recovering cautiously after suffering a groin injury in July and later a bone bruise during her rehabilitation.

In the 2025 season, Clark averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists over just 13 games. She did take part in the U.S. training camp for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup but has otherwise focused on training and various activities off the court.

Though Clark is sitting out from competitive play this offseason, she remains visible to fans through other engagements. On Tuesday, NBC announced that the two-time All-Star will appear as a special guest during the broadcasts of two NBA games: the Los Angeles Lakers vs. New York Knicks game on Sunday and the March 29 Knicks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder matchup.

Her teammates and fans have enthusiastically welcomed this news. Fever guard Aerial Powers, who joined Indiana on a hardship contract in August 2025 and formed a close bond with Clark, responded with excitement, commenting, “Oh, we love this!!” on the announcement post. Powers praised Clark for making her feel welcomed on the team.

Additionally, Aliyah Boston shared the update on her Instagram Stories, exclaiming, “Perioddodd babes,” while Fever GM Amber Cox praised Clark’s upcoming role, calling it “very entertaining and insightful” and stating, “CC is a given!”

Fan Take: Caitlin Clark stepping into a broadcasting role during the offseason highlights her growing influence beyond the court and helps elevate the visibility of women’s basketball. This move not only keeps fans engaged but also signals the increasing crossover appeal WNBA stars have, paving the way for greater exposure and growth of the sport.
