Arsenal are reportedly the latest clubs to be linked with a move for RB Leipzig winger Yann Diomande, along with Liverpool and others.
In his latest CF Bayern Insider column, Christian Falk provided an update on the situation with Diomande, who could leave Leipzig this summer for around £86.6 million.
Arsenal have recently joined the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United in scouting talented Ivorian players.
Falk also said that Diomande’s asking price appears to be too high for Bayern, so it could actually be good news for suitors from the Premier League.
Christian Falk speaks about interest in Yann Diomande transfer
Falk spoke about Diomande’s future, setting out Leipzig’s demands on the 19-year-old, while confirming interest from Arsenal and other top English clubs.
“That’s true. Premier League clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal send scouts to Red Bull Arena to watch Yann Diomande,” Falk said.
“I’m a bit worried about this because Bayern Munich don’t want to spend as much money as Premier League clubs.
“They like Diomande, he would be a player who perfectly fits the profile they are looking for. But at the end of the day, if you have to spend this much money, and they are talking about 100 million euros (about 100 million yen), that is too much for Bayern Munich.”
Why Yann Diomand attracts attention
Diomande is still young and still learning the game, but he has had an impressive record for Leipzig with eight goals and four assists in all competitions so far this season.
The teenager, who can play on either flank, looks like he has the X-factor Arsenal need to really step up next season.
Mikel Arteta’s side have not been the most exciting to watch this season, with Bukayo Saka’s goals drying up, while summer signings such as Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke have not had as much of an impact as expected.
It’s also easy to see how Diomande would be ideal to help Liverpool search for a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, while Man United certainly need such a deal after Matheus Cunha’s shaky first season.
