Arsenal are currently reportedly in talks to sign the South American talent, ahead of their Premier League rivals.
Mikel Arteta praises Arsenal’s ‘impressive’ performance
The pressure was on for Arsenal heading to Elland Road. Defeat would have allowed Manchester City and Aston Villa to close the gap at the top of the Premier League, where they started with a shock defeat to Manchester United last weekend. But as far as Mikel Arteta is concerned, pressure creates diamonds.
Arteta had nothing but praise for his side as the Gunners easily breezed past Daniel Farke’s side and extended their lead at the top of the table with a 4-0 win over Leeds ahead of Sunday afternoon’s game between Villa and City.
He told reporters: “Of course we are very happy. A very impressive performance, a very impressive result.
“And in the context that we did it. We knew the difficulty of the game and the opponent we were facing, the recent form and the style of play at the moment, the energy that the stadium would bring.
“And the fact that we really wanted to show how much we wanted it after three results in the league that didn’t go our way. And I think we said something about that today.”
The result allows Arsenal to refocus their attention on the transfer window ahead of both Monday’s deadline and the summer transfer window.
Several rumors have already surfaced on this front, including rumors about a blockbuster move such as Atlético Madrid’s Julian Alvarez and a South American gem.
Arsenal are favorites to sign Eduardo
According to reports in Spain, reported by Sport Witness, Arsenal are currently in talks to sign Eduardo Conceição from Palmeiras. The Gunners are now reportedly the frontrunners to sign the 16-year-old, having met with him and his agents in London.
However, the deal will not be finalized until the Brazilian turns 18. That means people in north London will have to follow his progress from afar. And they’re not the only ones interested. According to reports, Liverpool, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have also been named as potential buyers for Edouard.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are in an explosive race for the £69m Arsenal star
The Gunners could lose one of their biggest stars.
Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira has compared Eduardo to Real Madrid’s Endrick and said that Eduardo “has Endrick’s potential,” so there is no doubt that Palmeiras himself is a player to keep an eye on.
If so, Arsenal should go all-in on the teenager. Considering that Endrick, who joined Lyon on loan this month, has shown exactly what he is capable of, scoring four goals in six games.
It would also be a very appropriate statement from the Gunners when the time comes, given that interest from Europe’s top clubs, including many of their Premier League rivals, is very high.
