  • Gunners’ summer plans take shape
  • Svensson may not need to sign for Arsenal
        • Fabrizio Romano: Arsenal currently considering signing ‘world-class’ £100m star

Arsenal are currently interested in signing Borussia Dortmund’s ‘Machine’ in the summer transfer window following a scouting mission.

Gunners’ summer plans take shape

The Gunners may not need to do much this summer as they are well-rounded in all areas and are in a strong position to win the Premier League title, but The Athletic’s James McNicholas suggested signing a young central midfielder could be on the agenda.

Mr. McNicholas said: “Arsenal face the difficult task of strengthening an already excellent squad. After signing Martin Zvimendi, who turns 27 this week, and Norgaard, who turns 32 next month, in the summer, they may look to introduce younger players into their midfield.”

That said, it may be difficult to slot Declan Rice and Zvimendi into the starting XI, given the sizeable partnership between them. As a result, Christian Norgaard has only played 31 minutes in the Premier League this season.

Another position where Mikel Arteta has many options is at left-back, with the likes of Riccardo Calafioli, Miles Lewis-Skelly and Piero Hincapie able to play at left-back, but the north Londoners are now turning to other players in that area.

This is according to a report from BILD (via Sports Witness) that Arsenal are interested in a summer move for Borussia Dortmund star Daniel Svensson, with Leeds United and Inter Milan also being targets.

Dortmund are set to demand €30m (about £26m) for the left-back, and at this stage there is only a 30% chance that the player, who has emerged as an important player, will leave the German club in the next transfer window.

Svensson is said to have “improved significantly” since Niko Kovac took over as manager, and his current employers are in a better negotiating position as his contract runs until 2029.

Svensson may not need to sign for Arsenal

Former teammate Jeppe Tverskov previously praised the full-back, saying:he is a machine He has a strong body and can run a lot. When I used to play almost every 3 days, there were many people who played for many minutes. The only difference is that in the eternal battle there was a distance of 13 kilometers inside him. It’s very impressive. ”

Since then, the nine-time Sweden international has become a key player for Dortmund, making 30 appearances in all competitions this season and creating 17 big chances, the third most of any player in the Bundesliga.

The Gunners are keeping an eye on the midfielder.

The Gunners may have been impressed after carrying out a scouting mission last month, as the former Norschelland player also showed defensive qualities that ranked him third, averaging 0.4 blocks per 90.

However, there is no need to bring in Svensson this summer as Arsenal already have plenty of options at left-back and Lewis Skelly’s development has probably been hampered by a lack of game time this season.
