Romano explained on the latest episode of Here We Go that Liverpool’s board could consider Slott’s position depending on whether the Reds qualify for the Champions League or not.

Despite winning the Premier League title last season, Slott has underperformed for Liverpool this season, with the Merseyside giants currently sitting sixth in the table and facing an uphill battle to finish in the top four.

Fabrizio Romano talks about Arne Slott’s future at Liverpool

“For Arne Slott, the situation is very clear. Qualifying for the Champions League next season is extremely important for Liverpool,” Romano said.

“This will also help Arne Slott arrive at the end of the season in a more relaxed situation with the club. Otherwise, if Liverpool do not take part in next season’s Champions League, let’s see what kind of Champions League campaign they will enjoy.”

“This could force Liverpool into a major overhaul ahead of the summer. All the focus is now on the pitch and of course the chances of winning trophies will be huge for Liverpool.”

“Then we will review the club in the summer. Let’s see if Liverpool will be in the Champions League next season. That will be one of the factors in deciding Arne Slott.”

“Therefore, we expect the club to come together at the end of the season with all the owners, board and management to decide what they want to do.”

Who will replace Arne Slott as Liverpool manager?

It remains to be seen whether Slott truly deserves more time at Anfield, as his second season has seen a significant drop in form since his debut season.

We’ll probably have a clearer idea soon, but it’s also worth keeping an eye on who could potentially replace the Dutchman.

Changing managers always involves a degree of risk, so LFC will need to be confident they can find a more suitable person.

Former Liverpool player Xabi Alonso did a very impressive job during his time as Bayer Leverkusen manager and looks like an obvious name to consider.

Things have not gone well at Real Madrid, leading to his recent sacking and subsequent lack of appearances, so that could end up being a key factor.
