David Lynch claims Liverpool are keen to sign Bayern Munich star forward Michael Olise as they prepare for life without Mohamed Salah.

Michael Olise has taken his game to the next level since moving to the Bundesliga. English clubs have been keeping an eye on him, with quite a few wanting to bring him back to the Premier League. According to David Lynch via TEAMtalk, Liverpool are keen to sign the former Crystal Palace star.

When speaking to Anfield Index about Oliseh’s future, Lynch said, “Oliseh seems to have been mentioned in the comments, so I’ll keep an eye on him.”

“It’s interesting, especially Bayern’s interest in Gakpo, which could potentially be something, but he would want to go back to the Premier League at some point and he’s a very good player and Liverpool have been eyeing him for a long time and even before Palace.”

“So it’s going to be interesting once he hits the market.”

Olise made quite a name for himself while playing for Crystal Palace. A number of England’s top clubs were eyeing his signature in the summer of 2024, but Bayern Munich managed to win the race with an offer of €60m (then £50m).

Liverpool want Michael Oliseh instead of Salah

The France international has taken his game to the next level since joining the German giants. In the ongoing campaign, the 24-year-old has made 35 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 25 assists. Liverpool are one of the clubs keeping an eye on him and would like to see him return.

The Reds have had their eye on him for a number of years, and with Mohamed Salah’s long-term future uncertain, they are eyeing Oliseh as the ideal long-term replacement. They would love to have him on the roster, but it won’t be easy to get him highly valued by Bayern Munich.

The German club have no intention of negotiating his departure and, with his contract running until 2029, they have full control over his future. A potential transfer could cost more than €114m (£100m).

Despite the difficulty in securing his services, Lynch believes the 24-year-old remains firmly on FSG’s radar. More importantly, the player wants to return to the Premier League at some point in his career. However, as things stand, it seems highly unlikely that he will transfer this summer.
