The 24-year-old right-back has emerged as a key target for several ambitious clubs.

Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart and Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven are monitoring his situation closely, while Premier League pair Crystal Palace and Everton have expressed a “strong interest” in bringing him to England.

Genk have reportedly placed a €15m (£12.5m) price tag on the defender.

El Ouadi has already informed the club management of his desire to leave at the end of this season.

Although he has reportedly received a big-money offer from the Russian league, the player is said to be prioritizing a “coherent sporting project” over financial gain, with the Premier League seen as the ideal destination for his development.

Who is Zakaria El Waadi?

Zakaria El Ouadi has had a breakthrough period in Belgium, establishing himself as one of the most dynamic full-backs in the Jupiler Pro League.

Known for his tactical discipline and ability to quickly transition from defense to attack, he has been a mainstay in Genk’s line-up since joining from RWDM in 2023.

His performances have been the main reason for Genk’s competitive performance in national and European competitions.

On the international stage, El Ouadi excelled for Morocco’s U23 team, helping them win a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Despite missing out on a place in the 2025 African Cup of Nations squad, his main goal remains to cement his place in the Moroccan national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
