West Ham will need midfield reinforcements this summer, with the likes of Edson Alvarez, Thomas Sousek and Lucas Paketa leaving the club. And now they are working on a contract for Angel Gomez to join as an alternative to one of the aforementioned players.

It is expected that West Ham doesn’t have much money to spend this summer due to a disappointing season in the Premier League. Sales can raise funds, but for now the free agent market is being investigated. Gomez has appeared, who has accumulated four England caps over the past few years.

The former Man United man who recently announced he was leaving the reel at the end of the season is a huge market opportunity and something West Ham wants to take advantage of.

According to a soccer insider, Pete O’Rourke has revealed that West Ham has already filed multiple offers from Gomez, who are also on the radar at Tottenham and Aston Villa.

“It will be an open race for Angel Gomez. I think he will be one of the most popular free agents in his transfer period this summer. He has confirmed he will leave Lille at the end of the season when his contract expires.

“The Spurs showed interest, Aston Villa; West Ham made an offer to him that he was turned down, but they are still trying to convince the table to move to East London. His inventory really rose last year or so.

It’ll be difficult for West Ham to make a deal given Tottenham and Aston Villa to play European football next season, but they are determined to secure Gomez’s signature for the time being.
