Robin Roofs did well in the Premier League
Rufus joined the Black Cats from NEC Nijmegen Last summer, it has gone from strength to strength ever since. He has been one of Sunderland’s standout performers and a big reason why Sunderland are mid-table since their return to the Premier League.
He has kept eight clean sheets out of 28 league games, and his overall performance has been nothing short of remarkable. The 23-year-old Dutch goalkeeper has made quite a name for himself and a number of clubs are currently interested in signing him.
Chelsea are very interested in Rufus
Chelsea are one of the clubs keen to sign him. Roberto Sanchez, currently the likely goalkeeper, is not consistent enough and they are looking for an upgrade in that position. The Blues believe that Rufus is the perfect fit for their project and have decided to further develop their specific interest in his services.
The London club’s scouts have been very impressed with what they have seen from him and believe he has the ability to play for a Champions League club. There will be considerable competition for his signature, but Sunderland reportedly value him at around £50mChelsea still intend to push for his signature.
