Yamaha’s Fabio Quartaralo completed a hat-trick for the Motogpu in 2025 after topping the qualifier for the British Grand Prix, while Mark Marquez was fourth.

Fabio Quartarraro placed factory Yamaha on pole at the Gramps Prize in Spain and France, continuing its winning streak at Silverstone on Saturday afternoon.

The 2021 World Champion is setting a new lap record of 1M 57.233 to mark his first pole hat trick since the 2021 season.

Quartarraro had the head of Alex Marquez, who had been heavily crashed in FP2, but Pecco Bagnaia returned to the front row for the first time since the Spanish Grand Prix.

Mark Marquez came in fourth in his sister factory team, Ducati.

Yamaha has been strong all weekend so far, and Alex Lyns continued at the start of the 15-minute Q2 as he set the benchmark with the 1M58.558S following the Marquez brothers.

He was quickly abdicated by his teammate Cartalaro. He posted 1M58.506. Then before Mark Marquez went into the 1M57 at 1M57.914.

At the end of the first run, Quartararro was held second to Mark Marquez after 0.281 seconds.

With just under two minutes into the session, Bagnaia felt she had made a breakthrough on the Ducati front end on Friday, and was on top with 57.822 m.

His time on the pole was short-lived as Alex Marquez found 1m57.542 and found 1m57.542 in one minute to place Gresini Ducati’s top on the timesheet.

However, this is not enough to deny Quartararro. That 1m57.233 excluded him from the field for 0.309 seconds.

Mark Marquez was on the course to challenge Quartararro’s time on the final lap, but he made a mistake on his way to Copse and then canceled the lap that passed through Maggott.

The championship leaders will start this weekend’s fourth race ahead of Gresini Rookie Fermin Aldegar and Pramac Yamaha’s Jack Miller (approximately 0.872 seconds from Cartalaro).

Fabio di Giannantonio was seventh in his VR46 Ducati ahead of Honda’s Luca Marini and his LCR counterpart Johann Zarco.

Franco Morbidelli came through the first quarter with Marini, but managed only 10th place with the Sister VR46 Ducati. He actually drops three places on the grid on Sunday to block it.

Marco Betzecchi was the main Aprilia on the 11th, and Lynn dropped to 12th on the checkered flag.

Joan Mir narrowly missed Q2 location in 13th place with factory Honda, while Pedro Acosta was in the top KTM in 14th place.

LCR’s Somkiat Chantra crashed in the first quarter, but Tech3 KTM’s Maverick Vinales suffered from technical issues and placed 18th.
