Chelsea are interested in signing the highly talented Bayern Munich defender Cassiano Chiara.

The 17-year-old is a promising talent and is highly regarded by German clubs. He joined the German champions in the summer of 2024 and became a key player in their academy. Manchester City are also monitoring his development, with TEAMtalk reporting that the player’s father recently traveled to London for private talks with the two Premier League clubs.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea respond to their interest and make a formal offer to sign the talented young defender. The German youth international has the potential to develop into a quality player for Chelsea in the long term. Bayern Munich will not want to lose a talented player like him and it remains to be seen how the situation will turn out.

The 17-year-old wants first-team minutes straight away and Chelsea will need to give him guaranteed game time if they want to persuade him. There is no doubt that they are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to play for them could be attractive for most young players.

Similarly, Manchester City would also be an attractive destination. Working together with Pep Guardiola will help bring out the best in young players.

Both Chelsea and Manchester City have the financial resources to make a deal happen. However, the young defender will need to choose his next destination carefully. He should join a club with a clear path to the first team. He will also need a clear role within the team.
