After Sunday’s weather-interrupted third round of the Texas Open, Scotland’s Robert McIntyre suffered a bogey on the 18th hole, narrowing his advantage.

The world No. 11 had cut his lead over Swedish playing partner Ludwig Aberg from four strokes to two through six holes when the third round was suspended due to rainstorms on Saturday.

When play resumed in San Antonio after the players completed the third and fourth rounds, McIntyre picked up a shot on the first hole to give his rivals some breathing room, but dropped his shot on the ninth.

The 29-year-old played solidly and was gunning for a two-stroke advantage, but dropped another shot at the end of his round of 72 to cut the lead to one point.

Aberg restarted with two bogeys in the first three holes, but made timely birdies on the 14th and 17th to stay in contention.

Also doing the same was American Michael Kim, who shot a 66 in the third round, and compatriots Andrew Putnam and Ryo Hisatsune, who shot 67s.

England’s Matt Wallace entered the fray with a round of 64, looking for his second PGA Tour victory.
