Tottenham’s players have returned from their first training session under Roberto De Zerbi to “rave reviews”, sparking a much-needed wave of optimism at a club currently battling to remain in the Premier League.
The 46-year-old Italian, who signed a five-year contract earlier this week to replace Igor Tudor, took to the Hotspur Way lawn for the first time on Friday.
According to football.london, the impact was immediate and players seemed to embrace De Zerbi’s high-intensity approach from the start.

Tottenham players impressed by Roberto De Zerbi
According to a report by Alasdair Gold, the atmosphere at North London clubs changed overnight.
One senior player reportedly described the session to close friends as “awesome,” and other players also gave glowing feedback regarding the “level of work.”
Footage released by the club also shows the former Brighton manager working closely with young talents such as Lukas Bergvall, Matthijs Tell, who has returned to training from injury, and Archie Gray.
De Zerbi’s priority is to keep Tottenham in good form.
Despite the positive ‘vibes’ from the training ground, Tottenham’s reality situation remains grim.
Spurs currently sit 17th in the Premier League, just one point ahead of West Ham, who are in the final relegation zone with seven games remaining.

premier league relegation battle
De Zerbi has exactly one week to settle on his philosophy before his first official test, a daunting trip to Sunderland on April 12.
With the club’s top-flight status at stake, the board will be hoping this “outstanding” first impression will soon translate into results in order to avoid a historic fall from the Championship.
