Rodri did a good job of drawing defenders into the box and tried to cross home, but it missed and the ball went to Haaland, who slotted it in first.

Manchester City would maintain their lead for the remaining 20 minutes.

See the goals below.

Haaland’s form this season

Haaland has set an almost impossible standard for himself since arriving in England, but his form during the 2025-26 season is the subject of intense debate.

The Norwegian striker, who had a brilliant start to his career at Manchester City, has been uncharacteristically quiet in recent months, leading some to wonder if the tactical changes under Pep Guardiola this season have limited his touches.

However, good players find their level when the stakes are highest. Despite his regular goal-per-game rate dropping, Haaland remains the most feared predator in the league.

This goal against Arsenal was the first time he had achieved this feat, taking his tally to 23 in the league and 33 in all competitions.
