  • Liverpool midfielder Jones ready to leave club
  • Reds midfielder has no shortage of options this summer

Premier League giants Liverpool will make major changes to their team for next season.

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have already announced that they will leave the club at the end of the season.

They were expected to continue their success under Arne Slott after winning the league last season and spending big on new players in the summer transfer window, but nothing has gone right this season.

Now, another player is reportedly open to leaving the club after enjoying success at Anfield.

Liverpool midfielder Jones ready to leave club

Academy graduate Curtis Jones is seriously considering his future with his boyhood club, according to talkSPORT.

The 25-year-old midfielder is understandably attracting a lot of attention, as he is unhappy with his current situation in the team and is desperate for regular appearances.

With Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan active, this summer could mark the end of an era for local youngsters.

To understand why Jones is focused on exit doors, look at the numbers.

Despite being an important and versatile utility man for manager Arne Slott, his actual starting opportunities have been incredibly limited, although he recently filled in admirably at right-back in the dramatic 100-minute Merseyside derby win against Everton.

Despite making more than 40 appearances in all competitions this season, Jones has only started 13 times in the Premier League.

The harsh reality is that Liverpool’s engine room is currently completely stacked. He now finds himself trailing behind big names such as Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenbirch, Alexis Mac Allister and recent signing Florian Wirtz.

Jones is entering the final 12 months of his current contract. If Liverpool don’t want to lose him on a free transfer in 2027, they need to either hand him a big new contract or cash in quickly.

Reds midfielder has no shortage of options this summer

Should he decide to pack his bags, there will be no shortage of elite options.

Inter Milan is a long-time fan. In fact, the Serie A giants lobbied seriously to sign him back in the January transfer window, before Liverpool management firmly backed out of the deal later that day.

Meanwhile, fast-rising Aston Villa have him firmly on their summer wishlist as they look to strengthen their midfield position.

Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly very interested. However, there are big conditions attached to Spurs’ pursuit, and Spurs’ interest rests entirely on whether they can survive the current shocking relegation battle and secure their place in the top flight.
