Cam Young played sensational golf through two rounds of this week’s Cadillac Championship.

Young shot rounds of 64 and 67 at the Cadillac Championship and is currently at 13 under heading into the weekend, five shots behind the three players at 8 under.

Scottie Scheffler is probably Cam Young’s biggest threat this week as he ranks at 6 under.

However, the 28-year-old is currently playing so well that it is doubtful whether anyone will even be able to come close to him.

Even Young’s poor shots yielded surprisingly good results.

Perhaps the best example of this was Young’s 16-foot putt for birdie on the long par-3 13th hole.

The American thought it was a really bad putt and immediately walked towards the hole, but was really shocked when the ball ended up in the bottom of the cup.

Asked by reporters what happened on the 13th green, Young said:

“Yes, I really started to hate it about halfway through.“ Young admitted.

“I think my reading was okay, but I thought it would go a little to the left, then a little to the right, and it ended up going 6 inches to the left and 6 inches to the right.

“So I ended up way to the left of where I thought I had a chance to go in, and on days like that, when I’m putting well, I tend to wobble and go into the hole, and that’s what happened that day.“

What Cam Young expects from the Cadillac pursuit group

The two-time PGA Tour winner is looking for the third title of his career.

But it certainly won’t be easy, as many talented golfers are ready to chase his lead over the weekend.

Speaking to the media after his round, Young talked about how he plans to attack the golf course this weekend.

“I think we have to be prepared for them to decline,“ Young said.

“We don’t know exactly what the weather is like, but scoring is done here every morning in the morning.

“A few guys were going crazy this morning. I feel like I need to be prepared for that.

“You might have a two-stroke, three-stroke, or four-stroke lead starting tomorrow, but it disappears quickly on the outside.

“There’s no point in playing like you have a four-shot lead. It would be better to play like a back four.“
