Liverpool manager Arne Slott today hit back at fans who booed him inside Anfield when Rio Ngmoja was substituted on against Chelsea.

The 17-year-old had a great game against the Blues and generally looks like one of the most exciting attacking players on a team that is currently in a bit of a slump in the slot.

Still, Slott insisted that Liverpool fans were probably unaware of the decision he had to make, as Ngumoha had said he was struggling with injury and would not be able to continue.

The Dutch tactician will be feeling the pressure at the moment as Liverpool have had a difficult season, but his reaction after the game was a bit muted.

When asked why he sacked Ngmoha and what he thought about the reaction from fans, Slott insisted that he is the manager and sometimes decisions have to be made.

“I don’t think that was for some people. I totally understand that there were a lot of people who didn’t agree with the changes,” Slott told TNT Sports, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

“He had a muscle problem and when I asked him he said he wasn’t sure if he could continue. I knew there would be a reaction like this because he’s a very good player.”

What’s next for Liverpool?

LFC fans were clearly not happy after today’s poor performance and 1-1 draw with an out-of-form Chelsea team.

Ryan Gravenbirch scored a great goal early on and the Reds certainly had a chance to beat them at that point.

However, that did not happen and the team’s lack of attacking instincts seemed to rub the home crowd the wrong way.

Enzo Fernandes eventually equalized, giving Chelsea their first Premier League point since early March.
