RB Leipzig winger Yann Diomande has broken his silence on transfer rumors surrounding his future, perhaps suggesting he is ready to stay where he is.

The Ivory Coast international has been one of this season’s breakthrough stars, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in all competitions at just 19 years old.

Liverpool are perhaps the most heavily linked with Diomande, with TEAMtalk claiming that negotiations appear to be progressing well.

However, Fabrizio Romano spoke on his YouTube channel about the possibility of Diomande remaining at Leipzig and signing a new contract.

Speaking about his current situation, Diomande certainly doesn’t rule out the possibility, as quoted by The Athletic.

When asked about a move, Diomande mentioned Chelsea as a big club with which he could be linked.

Interestingly, the 19-year-old did not mention Liverpool, but he also revealed how much he wants to repay Leipzig for their faith in him.

“Imagine when people say you’re going to Chelsea or Real Madrid to do this job… you’ll be happy and motivated to do more,” Diomande said.

“I don’t think about it too much because my focus is on the pitch and my job is to play football and take care of everything, but it’s a big motivation to see people talking about me.”

He added: “It’s not just about playing football. Most people can only see what happens on the pitch, but the club (Leipzig) has helped me a lot, along with my family and my mother.”

“A lot of things happen to young kids like me, but no one knows about them outside of the club. They’ve done a lot for me so I’m grateful to them and all I can do is help them on the pitch.”

Should Yann Diomand make a move now or should he wait?

Diomande definitely looks like he has a big career ahead of him, but sometimes you see players move on too soon.

For now, it may be wise for the talented young attacker to stay where he is, ensure he plays regularly and continues to develop.

Liverpool appear to need someone like Diomande, but with many of the club’s big signings last summer falling through, there are no guarantees on either side.

Chelsea also look like a risky move at the moment, with only a few success stories among the long list of young players recently signed by the Blues.
