The 22-year-old is aiming to break into Spain’s squad for this summer’s 2026 World Cup after a strong performance in La Liga.
According to the Daily Mirror, both Newcastle and Aston Villa are linked with Munoz, with Newcastle keeping an eye on him while Gordon holds talks to join Bayern Munich.
It’s clear the Magpies need to prepare for the possibility of Gordon leaving, and Munoz looks like a strong candidate as a long-term replacement.

With Nick Woltemade and Yoan Wissa failing to live up to expectations, the Reds will have to hope their signings go better than some of their signings last summer.
That can often be a problem when recovering from the blow of losing a star name, but you’d hope Newcastle could rise to the occasion better if they planned early.
However, Villa could be a worry for them as Unai Emery’s side have just won the Europa League final and are preparing for a return to Champions League football next season.
If Muñoz were to move to England, he would choose Villa as the better project at the moment, although being able to work under fellow Spaniard Emery at Villa Park could also be a factor.
