Ben Jacobs shares latest information on Sandro Tonali

Respected transfer journalist Ben Jacobs said: × It sheds light on Tyneside’s developing situation and confirms that Eddie Howe’s side are preparing for a fierce bidding war.

According to Jacobs, both Tottenham and Manchester City are actively negotiating with the player’s camp.

New Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly named his compatriot as a top target to rebuild the north London club’s midfield.

Meanwhile, Manchester City see Tonali as an ideal elite midfielder to add great tactical depth to their engine room.

They are not the only ones keeping a close eye on the situation. Arsenal made inquiries in January and are considering midfield options for this summer, meaning a late swoop from Mikel Arteta’s side cannot be completely ruled out as they aim to finalize their roster structure.

Jacobs shared the following update:

“Newcastle are preparing to sign Sandro Tonali and are expecting multiple suitors. Both Spurs and Manchester City are in talks.”

Tonali would like to play in Serie A again someday, but a return to Italy is highly unlikely due to costs.
