Liverpool ready to pay €100m for Yann Diomande
Ornstein revealed that Liverpool have formally informed Bundesliga side RB Leipzig of their intention to offer a huge sum of money approaching 100 million euros (approximately £86.5 million) to lure Diomand to Merseyside.
The explosive Ivorian international, who took Germany by storm last season by winning the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Year award, has quickly become one of the hottest young players in world football.
About David Ornstein ×: “EXCL: Liverpool inform RB Leipzig that they are willing to pay a package approaching €100m for Yann Diomande. #LFC are firmly in control at the moment, but #RBLeipzig want the 19-year-old and #PSG to remain strong candidates and are considering further options if necessary.”
Liverpool currently have the upper hand, but the deal is far from formal. RB Leipzig remain desperate to retain their prized asset, with French giants PSG still firmly in contention as favorites.
Due to these complex circumstances, Liverpool are actively considering alternative options in the event of a bottleneck in negotiations.
Liverpool announce Victor Muñoz as first signing of Andoni Iraola era
News of the €100m signing of Diomande comes on the heels of major new business at Anfield.
The Reds have officially announced the signing of 22-year-old Spain international winger Victor Muñoz from Osasuna on a permanent contract.

Liverpool took the football world completely by surprise by hijacking a deal that was initially thought to have been destined for Newcastle United.
By quickly activating Munoz’s €40m (approximately £34.5m) release clause, Liverpool secured the dynamic wide man as their first signing of the Andoni Iraola era.
If Liverpool are able to complement Muñoz’s arrival with a blockbuster signing for Diomande, it would signal FSG’s aggressive intentions to fill the void left by recent departures in the attack, particularly the departure of Mo Salah.
