Manchester United are currently in contact with the World Cup star and have already given his agent the green light for him to leave the club this summer.
The Red Devils remain on the market for a number of reinforcements in the coming months, with the focus on strengthening Michael Carrick’s midfield.
Adding Ederson is a start, but that’s it. As well as the Brazilian, the Old Trafford side are also targeting Elliott Anderson, Sandro Tonali and Matheus Fernandes.
However, none of these stars come cheap. Anderson is likely to cost a British record price, with Nottingham Forest demanding around £120m. Meanwhile, Newcastle United have just rejected Tottenham Hotspur’s £80m offer for Tonali, and United will at least need to improve on that bid to have any chance of securing the Italian’s contract.
Real Madrid fear Manchester United are poaching Jose Mourinho’s top target
The Red Devils are willing to pay big money.
Next is Fernandez. West Ham United are also demanding £85m for their star in the Championship. In the summer, when there will be a lot of activity in midfield, it looks like he will either spend big or shop outside the Premier League, such as at Man United.
The good news is that the World Cup is proving to be a very good platform for a much cheaper alternative, with whom the Red Devils are already in negotiations.
Manchester United hold contract talks with World Cup star
The World Cup is the place to be a breakout star. It has led to big moves for the likes of James Rodriguez and, as those at Old Trafford know, Sofian Amrabat in the past, and now the same could happen with Felix Nmeka.
According to TeamTalk, Manchester United are in talks with Nmeka’s representatives, who have already given him the green light to move from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The Bundesliga giants have also already revealed the amount, with reports suggesting they could be willing to accept just £52m for the midfielder’s sale in the coming months.
Considering the current prices of other targets in the area, this would be a huge boost for Manchester City and could potentially take them one more point ahead of them in the process.
Nmeka graduated from Manchester City’s academy not too long ago, but has since flourished elsewhere and caught the attention of their biggest rivals. The 25-year-old, described by Julian Nagelsmann as “world class” and having played for Germany at the World Cup, is sure to be a player to watch this summer.
