  • Tottenham are looking for a forward who can also press.
  • Decision to move to Man City could be key

Tottenham are reportedly eyeing Manchester City forward Omar Marmouche as Roberto De Zerbi looks to reshape his attack this summer.

According to journalist Nicolò Sylla, Spurs are interested in the Egyptian international and there are reports that he could consider his future at City if it becomes difficult to secure regular appearances.

De Zerbi is a big fan of the player and says Tottenham could make a move within the next few days.

This is a deal that’s not even close to being done, and it’s still one to watch.

Tottenham’s manager has shown ambition in this summer’s transfer window. The north London club are also eyeing moves for players such as Matheus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.

Tottenham are looking for a forward who can also press.

It makes sense that Tottenham would be interested. De Zerbi prefers forwards who can press and combine quickly to get across the front line. Marmouche fits that profile well.

He’s not just a traditional striker. He can play centrally and drift wide to attack space, giving Spurs more flexibility in the final third.

After an inconsistent attacking season, Tottenham need more pace, movement and competition up front.

This move could be perfect for everyone involved, as Marmouche is looking for playing time.

Decision to move to Man City could be key

City acquired Marmouche from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 in a deal worth around 70 million euros plus add-ons.

He arrived on a high note after an impressive spell in Germany, but competition at City is always fierce.

His departure will likely depend on both his playing time and City’s desire to sell him.

Marmouche would be an exciting signing for Tottenham. His speed, versatility and direct style suit De Zerbi’s football well and he could become a key weapon in the attack if given more responsibility.

However, Spurs need to be careful. City paid him a lot of money, so this won’t come cheap.

If Tottenham can craft a smart deal, it’s worth considering. If City demand a huge transfer fee, Spurs may be better off looking elsewhere.
