  • Gunners need to be careful about waste

Arsenal are set to take on Tottenham with the signing of Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Crupi, setting up a fascinating north London transfer battle for one of the Premier League’s most exciting young attackers.

According to Football London, Crupi is one of Spurs’ priority attacking targets this summer as Roberto De Zerbi’s side continue their aggressive rebuild after a disappointing domestic campaign.

Tottenham are already very active in the transfer market, but Arsenal are now ready to join the race and test Bournemouth’s position.

Crupi scored 13 goals in the Premier League last season and is valued at more than £80 million.

The Independent reports that he is at the top of Tottenham’s list of options for a left-back, while Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the situation closely.

Interest from Arsenal adds twist to transfer saga

Tottenham’s interest is ambitious, especially considering the difference in season between Tottenham and Arsenal.

The Gunners won the Premier League and reached the Champions League final, while Spurs finished 17th, but De Zerbi’s side are spending big to close the gap quickly.

Crupi fits what both clubs need. He is fast, versatile, confident in front of goal and can play as a striker or on the left.

That flexibility makes him valuable to Arsenal, especially as Mikel Arteta seeks more depth and unpredictability in attack.

But Bournemouth are not hopeless sellers. TEAMtalk reported that the Cherries have no intention of losing him unless a huge offer arrives.

Gunners need to be careful about waste

Arsenal are right to keep an eye on Crupi, but they shouldn’t be dragged into an emotional battle with Tottenham.

He is clearly a talented young player and to have scored 13 goals in the Premier League at his age is impressive.

However, over £80m is a huge transfer fee, especially if Arsenal also have their eyes on other attacking targets.

PSG’s interest further complicates this. Bournemouth’s asking price could rise even further if all three major clubs force their way.

Arsenal should remain in the race, but only if the deal makes economic sense.

Crupi has the potential to be a star, but at this price the Gunners need to be completely confident he is ready to make an immediate impact.

Crupi has been hailed as a “generational” talent.
