Chelsea set £50m price tag as Manchester United step up their bid for technically talented star

Manchester United are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Andrej Santos in the summer transfer window.

However, Chelsea value the player at £50m, which could complicate any potential transfer. Manchester United will not want to overpay players.

They need more quality players in the middle of the park and the 22-year-old could be a good long-term investment.

Santos has struggled to get regular minutes at Chelsea, and leaving the club would be ideal for his development. Furthermore, the Guardian reports that Newcastle United are also interested in signing the South American midfielder.

The 22-year-old is a talented player with a promising future who could develop into a top-flight player if given regular minutes. A move to Manchester United or Newcastle would allow him to get the most out of the player.

He will add physicality, drive and technical ability in the middle of the park for Manchester United. He is well accustomed to English football and will be able to make an immediate impact.

However, he is not the only central midfielder Manchester United are eyeing. They are also monitoring Bournemouth’s Alex Scott. There is also a high possibility that a premium will be charged. It remains to be seen what the Red Devils will decide.

They have qualified for next season’s Champions League and will need to continue improving their squad to compete with elite clubs next season.

Santos wants to sort out his long-term future and also focus on his football. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will be able to reach a mutually beneficial deal.

Newcastle could lose Bruno Guimarães this summer and his compatriot could be the ideal replacement. Sandro Tonali is already close to a move to Tottenham.
