German transfer official Florian Plettenberg has announced breaking news that Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal with one of their top attacking targets this summer.
The German side have been pursuing Konstantinos Karetsas for months, and it appears they have finally agreed terms with his current club, Belgian side KRC Genk.
Confusingly, Plettenberg claimed that the two clubs had “reached an agreement in principle”, but also insisted that “negotiations are ongoing”.
Caretzas to move after long negotiation battle
Genk were willing to pay €35m for the Greek teenager, and one imagines Dortmund would have had to pay the full amount, if not all of it. It seems that their offer has already reached 30 million euros, which in reality comes down to a fairly small difference.
The German side is looking for a replacement for Julian Brandt, who left on a free transfer. Karetsas, 18, is an elegant playmaker who can move the ball between the lines and looks like the perfect candidate.
Dortmund have a great history of signing young players and could be another winner here if they get this player over the line.
