Stefan Bicetic could be linked with a permanent move from Liverpool this summer.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder was highly regarded within the club, but has suffered a number of serious injuries and has barely featured in recent seasons. Unsurprisingly, there are rumors that it could be sold in the coming weeks.

However, Radio Marca reports that new Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola rates the talented young midfielder highly and could give the 21-year-old a lifeline at the Premier League club.

It will be interesting to see if the Spanish midfielder can impress during pre-season and convince his manager to stay at the club. When he broke into Liverpool’s first team, he was regarded as one of the club’s best young players. He has the maturity, composure, technical ability and intelligence to compete at a high level. There is no doubt that he had the potential to play regularly in the first team. However, injuries halted his development. It remains to be seen whether he is at the level to play for a club like Liverpool.

The young thriller has a huge pre-season ahead of him and he will need to seize the opportunity and prove to his manager that he is good enough to continue at a top club like Liverpool. However, if he remains at the club, he will need to secure guaranteed game time. At this stage of his career, sitting on the bench every week will be detrimental to his development. He will need plenty of opportunities to express himself and continue to develop.
