Ludwig Oberg’s two weeks in England did not get off to the best start.
Before last week’s Genesis Scottish Open, Oberg suffered damage to his driver shaft and launch monitor while traveling abroad and had to have them replaced.

Oberg flew from Boston to his native Sweden after the Travelers Championship, but his luggage, including his golf bag, did not travel with him for three days. When they finally arrived, Oberg discovered the damage.
“I pulled it out and the driver broke in two,” Oberg said in an on-track interview at Royal Birkdale on Tuesday. “My Foresight (GC) Quad broke in half.”
Oberg missed out on a spot at Renaissance Club last Friday and enters this week’s British Open Championship without a top-10 finish since T-4 at the PGA Championship. But Oberg has had solid performances in recent majors and has now finished in the top 25 at the biggest tournaments for the fourth year in a row after missing back-to-back cuts at last year’s PGA and U.S. Open.
