Inter Milan planning talks with Tottenham to sign Jed Spence
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are preparing to hold talks with Tottenham in a bid to further sign Jed Spence.
The report claims the Nerazzurri believe the England international is the ideal long-term successor to Denzel Dumfries and are prepared to invest up to €35 million to secure his contract.
However, it is said that Inter are also mindful of Tottenham’s reputation as tough negotiators and will not exceed their valuation if Spurs demand a large transfer fee.
The next few days could be crucial as the Italian club looks to see if an agreement can be reached.
Liverpool are also said to be interested in signing Spence.
Jed Spence had a great World Cup
Spence’s reputation continues to grow following his impressive performance with England at the World Cup.
Although England ultimately lost to Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the semi-finals, Spence’s strong individual performances throughout the tournament firmly established his pedigree as one of Europe’s elite.
This global showcase has significantly inflated his valuation and could complicate Inter’s pursuit by drawing in rival suitors.
Spence could be on the move in search of regular playing time.
Spence would be open to a return to Serie A after his success with Genoa.

Competition for places at Tottenham could also influence his decision, with Pedro Polo firmly established in the team and Spurs signing experienced Andy Robertson on the left on a free transfer.
A move to San Siro promises him the regular first-team football he desires, at a club where his high-intensity attributes fit perfectly into their system.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to allow him to be sold, but it is hoped that negotiations between the two clubs will bring more clarity to the defender’s future.
