LOS ANGELES – The toughest hurdle is behind the main event fighters for UFC 331, Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja.
Ahead of their flyweight title rematch happening Saturday at Crypto.com Arena (Paramount+), reigning champion Van (16-2 MMA, 10-1 UFC) and former titleholder Pantoja (30-6 MMA, 14-4 UFC) successfully made weight during the official weigh-ins.
Pantoja was among the first to step on the scale, hitting 125 pounds as he aims to reclaim the championship and become a two-time titleholder. Van stepped on about 30 minutes later, also weighing in at 125 pounds before defending his belt for the second time.
With both fighters officially ready, the stage is set for a highly anticipated rematch. Their first encounter at UFC 323 was cut short after only 26 seconds due to an arm injury to Pantoja, handing Van a quick TKO victory.
The rivalry has intensified leading up to this fight, and now it’s time for them to settle the score inside the octagon.
Fan Take: This weigh-in marks the calm before what promises to be an electrifying showdown between two elite flyweights. For fight fans, this rematch represents not only a chance for redemption but also a pivotal moment that could redefine the division’s hierarchy.
