At the Mecum Auction held at Nashville Superspeedway, a collection of race cars once owned by NASCAR team owner Jack Roush was available for bidding. Among these was Greg Biffle’s 2004 Ford Taurus, sponsored by the National Guard, which was purchased by Cleetus McFarland for a winning bid of $47,000, culminating in a final price of $51,700.
A standout item was Kurt Busch’s No. 99 Exide Ford F-150 from his rookie year in the 2000 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, which sold for over $100,000, finishing at $110,000. Remarkably, Kurt Busch himself bought back his old truck during the auction. “I got my old truck back,” Kurt shared in a video while on a plane during the bidding. “It cost a bit more than I wanted to spend, but it goes to Jack’s pocket, and Jack helped me a lot.”
This specific truck was part of Kurt’s successful rookie season, during which he scored four wins and finished second in the championship. Over his illustrious career, Kurt Busch amassed 34 Cup victories, including the 2004 NASCAR Cup Series championship, while racing for five different teams and driving cars from four various manufacturers — a testament to his versatility and skill.
