On a challenging night in Paris, PSG celebrated their first Champions League victory with a commanding 5-0 win in Munich. However, the festivities quickly turned chaotic, leading to two fatalities and numerous arrests. The Ministry of Home Affairs reports that 491 arrests were made in Paris, particularly along the famed Champion League Avenue, where fans clashed with police. Nationwide, a total of 559 individuals faced arrest. Among the casualties were a man struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter in Paris and two people stabbed during celebrations in a southwestern town; investigators have yet to determine if these violent incidents were connected to the Champions League victory.

Police in Paris employed water cannons to disperse crowds attempting to reach the Arc de Triomphe. In a statement, police noted that some individuals were provocatively throwing large fireworks and other objects to escalate tensions. Additionally, reports from Grenoble indicate that a vehicle collided with fans, leaving four injured, with two in serious condition. While the majority of PSG supporters celebrated peacefully, clashes were reported in areas near Champion Avenue and PSG’s Parc de Princes Stadium.
