Michael Carrick stated that Manchester United midfielder Carlos Baleba’s injury “doesn’t look promising.”
Baleba sustained a hamstring injury during United’s remarkable comeback win against Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Despite trailing 2-0 at Old Trafford, goals from Bruno Fernandes (penalty) and a brace from Matheus Cunha helped the Red Devils clinch a vital victory.
Before being substituted in the 51st minute for Youri Tielemans, Baleba excelled, winning seven of his eight duels, including both aerial battles, and successfully completing all his dribbles (2/2).
The 22-year-old has only played seven times this season, having missed the beginning of the campaign due to an ankle injury.
Since his first start for United on October 13 against Atletico Madrid, Baleba has recorded the most duels won among Red Devils midfielders (27), holds the second-highest success rate in duels (64.3%), and is tied for the third-most tackles won (five).
“I don’t have any further updates on Carlos right now,” Carrick mentioned.
“It’s a hamstring injury, so we’ll need to evaluate the situation. At this point, it doesn’t look good. I can’t provide a timeline at the moment.”
