Pitbull is no longer associated with the Trackhouse Racing team. The musician announced on social media Friday that their partnership with the NASCAR Cup Series team has ended “effective immediately.”

Trackhouse had revealed that Pitbull joined the ownership group before their debut season in 2021. Primarily owned by Justin Marks, the team expanded to two cars after acquiring assets from Chip Ganassi Racing at the end of that year.

Pitbull stated, “Once I met Justin (team president) Tinoris and driver Daniel Suarez, we instantly connected. They’ve embraced me, showing that NASCAR is more than just a sport, it’s a culture.”

Pitbull was set to perform a pre-race concert at the Daytona 500 on Sunday, but due to rain, the event was postponed to 2025. Before the race, Pitbull also held a press conference to discuss the decision to leave the team.

This season, Trackhouse has three full-time cars in the Cup Series, driven by Suarez, Ross Chastain, and Shane Van Gisbergen. Over four seasons, the team’s drivers have won eight races, with Chastain finishing as runner-up in the 2022 standings.

Fan Take: Pitbull’s departure marks a significant shift for Trackhouse Racing, highlighting the evolving landscape of celebrity involvement in NASCAR. For fans, it underscores the importance of strong partnerships in boosting the sport’s cultural reach and competitive edge.
