Tijjani Reijnders is set to receive medical treatment with Manchester City on Sunday before rejoining the Dutch national team camp later that same day. Earlier in the week, sources confirmed to ESPN that Manchester City and AC Milan had reached an agreement for the midfielder at a price of 55 million euros ($62 million), with the expectation that he will sign a five-year contract.

Following the Netherlands’ 2-0 victory in a World Cup qualifying match on Saturday, Reijnders stated, “Everything is arranged, and we plan to finalize it within a day, so I’ll be rejoining the national team on Sunday.” He also noted that City is eager to wrap up the deal quickly before the Club World Cup transfer window closes on Tuesday. "Yes, registration is complete, so I needed to move as quickly as possible," he added. He expressed his enthusiasm about joining City as they prepare for their upcoming trip to the US for the tournament.

"I’m looking forward to getting to know the team better soon. I know Nathan Ake (a fellow Dutch international), but I believe this experience will be valuable." Manchester City’s first match in the tournament is against Wydad AC on June 18, but player registration will close on June 10.

Reijnders has had a strong season, scoring 10 goals in 37 appearances in Serie A and has previously played for AZ Alkmaar, PEC Zwolle, and participated in the Eredivisie.

This announcement is significant for soccer fans as it underlines Manchester City’s continuing ambitions in the transfer market, strengthening their squad for major competitions. Reijnders’ potential impact could enhance City’s performance in the Club World Cup and beyond, making it an exciting time for fans of the sport.
