Arsenal supporters are forced to patiently wait for the first confirmed signing of the summer despite a behind-the-scenes attempt at a transfer for new sports director Andrea Berta’s well-documented move.

The gunners are reportedly approaching Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Alizabaraga and Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, or some key deals.

The Spaniard is personally very keen to sign him.

Arrizabalaga appears poised to complete the £5 million move to Arsenal, staying with Mikel Arteta’s new backup keeper and David Raya (David Ornstein).

Zubimendi actually caused quite a stir with his recent comments suggesting that his future is still in the air, but others such as Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano have confirmed that it is still expected that Arsenal will sign the 26-year-old after agreeing to a deal with Sociedad.

After Zubimendi and Kepa, the people of North London will also remain in the market for new wingers and strikers.

Arsenal has Real Madrid forward Rodrigo on a long list of broad options and the Link still surrounds the Athletic Bilbao Starlet Nico Williams, so that’s certainly a notable position. But the most noise continues to surround Berta’s attempts to bring in center forwards.

According to the BBC, it is based on both contracts between RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesco and Sports’ CP Star Viktor Gyoker. Arsenal explored the conditions for both men’s movements before deciding which to formally pursue.

Arsenal has already given “specific” lectures about Sesco, but Gyoker remains firmly on the radar.

Portuguese newspaper records reported this week that Arsenal had published an official opening bid for Gyoker of £55 million, sharing the latest in the story.

Talking to the boot room, Bailey reports that the offer was rejected by sports. This is not surprising to see President Frederico Barandas confirming that offers under £60 million will not be enough.

Bailey adds that Gyoker’s camp clashed with the sport after snuggled out an Arsenal offer, but Arteta’s side remains in “constant contact” in his signature alongside Man United.

“Speaking to the sources, Gyoker is sure he will be moving this summer and believes he will be in the UK. He is not excluding other countries, he believes he will play,” the reporter said.

“He made it clear from the start that contracting with the Saudi Arabian professional league is not a consideration despite the approach this month.

“Arsenal and Mann United are in constant contact. The line of communication with these two clubs has been ongoing for several months.

“The player representatives are working hard on his future, but there is no deadline here. It may be this month, but perhaps in July, before anything agrees, there is no panic. They are calm.”

Varandas’ preferred price tag may be around £68 million, but there are striker wages to consider, and Gyoker reportedly demands £250,000 a week.
